Overview

Malbost was founded durring the late 15th century in fall of the year 1384, by Ermé̄sh Mbōy 'Melody Spring' Yä̌shī̌s Ca̋chī́̄ Ra̋ńch Clowers. The establishment of Malbost was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Ermé̄sh Mbōy 'Melody Spring' Yä̌shī̌s Ca̋chī́̄ Ra̋ńch Clowers struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Malbost as a prison colony.

Malbost was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Malbost is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Malbost is buildings folow an organic layout of crampt paverstone streets whihch gives the city a shape simmilar to a tree, if one views its streets from above. The city rests behind a thick wall made from clay bricks. The wall has all of the proper fortifications and is well made. Unfortuantly the nature of clay brick leaves it quite vulnerable to siege equipment, though the thickness of the wall lends it simmilar resistnace to a thinner hardrock wall. Astonishigly, the millitarily questionable fortifications are in pristine condishion, as if they had just been finished before you laied eyes upon them.

Right off the bat Malbost hits you in the face with its success. Everyone, even the peasants, are dressed in well made clothing. Every tool and implement you can see is finely made, and people will boast to you as obvious strangers of the wonders which can be found in their markets. More interestingly is a total lack of beggars, and plenty of new buildings are going up even as you speak. Somehow this city has come into quite a lot of wealth, and recently from the looks of things. The influx of wealth has brought with it an influx of relaxation. Everywhere you look people are enjoying their prosperity in a slow, casual, and deliberate manner. There’s no rush for anything anywhere you look.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Malbost was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Malbost lost 286 people, 292 livestock, and 31 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 56, when members of Malbost's militia enacted an operation to construct defenses in a particular fortification. The operation was complicated by a significant percentage of the militia choose to go abandon the operation and return home. The conflict ended with an assault and siege on the fortification, which ended in a stalemate for Malbost's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Malbost's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
